Avoiding Indoor Allergies

Allergies rank 5th in a list of Leading Chronic
55% of the US Population has reported suffering from
Allergies cost the US healthcare system approximately $7.9B
With those staggering
statistics The Bliss Real Estate Group of Keller Williams Realty would like to
provide just a few tips to avoid or reduce allergies in your home.

Living Area: Pollen can
live for up to three months. Soft furnishings (carpet, pillows, couches,
curtains) can all harbor these allergens. Use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA
filtration system to keep the allergens in the vacuum vs. releasing back into
the air source. Also, keep your windows closed to lower the impact of hay fever.
Bathroom: Damp spaces
with poor ventilation can harbor mold and mildews. Use a fan or open a window
to reduce humidity in the bathroom. Wipe the shower or bathtub with a dry towel
after bathing

to slow the growth of mold or mildew. Finally, instead of chemicals
that can enhance allergies, utilize a water and white vinegar mixture as a
cleaning solution.

Bedrooms: Again, soft
furnishings are a great home for allergens. Use cotton sheets and wash weekly
to ensure removal of allergy causing particles.
Wipe all surfaces to keep them dust free.
