Historic 1940 Downtown Cary Theater renovated and opens to the public in just 2 weeks!
February 22 with a “celluloid cutting” ceremony at 9:45 a.m. followed by movie screenings throughout the day: Waking Sleeping Beauty at 10:30 a.m., Goodbye Solo at 12:30 p.m., and Finding Nemo at 3 p.m. The films are followed by a live performance by Asheville’s One Leg Up at 7:30 p.m. to cap off opening night. Return February 23 for a special screening of Casablanca, which was originally released around the same time as the original theater’s opening. While all grand opening events are free, seating is limited and first come, first served.
